What we believe
We share the beliefs of the world-wide Christian Church as set out in the Apostles Creed and more specifically:
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct
God
We believe in the unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these three are equal and one
Jesus Christ
We believe in the sovereignty of God and in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, in His virgin birth, His perfect humanity, His death on the cross for our salvation, His resurrection and His present reign in heaven and on earth
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the world and His unique ability to create conviction of sin, faith in Jesus Christ, to increase a likeness to Jesus Christ. We believes He empowers individuals and the church for worship, service within the church and for witness in the world
Man
We believe in the sinfulness of our human nature in consequence of man’s fall and the necessity of forgiveness of sins for our salvation through repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ
The Church
We believe that the church is body of Christ to which all believers belong. The Free Church is a local fellowship of the universal church of our Lord Jesus Christ, obeying His commands and observing the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
The Future
We believe in the real and personal return of Jesus Christ to receive His church, the establishment of His kingdom and the final judgement of the world, when all believers will be raised to eternal life in heaven and unbelievers to eternal loss and separation from God
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; on the third day rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
